GBPW to establish grant program for rural doctors
At a bill-signing ceremony in Tifton on May 2, Gov. Nathan Deal signed House Bill 769 into law, which aims to improve rural health care in Georgia. The bill establishes a grant program for malpractice insurance premium assistance for physicians practicing in medically underserved, rural areas of the state, which will be administered by the Georgia Board for Physician Workforce.
More information about this new program and proposed rules will be available at the GBPW's quarterly meeting in July.
