GBHCW Launches New Georgia Match Results & Graduate Medical Education Dashboard
The Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce (GBHCW) kicked off the year with its first Board meeting on January 30, 2025. A key highlight of the meeting was the launch of the Georgia Match Results & Graduate Medical Education (GME) Dashboard, an interactive tool providing insights into residency trends across the state.
Each year, GBHCW collects National Resident Matching Program ("Match") data from Georgia’s medical schools. The Match is a pivotal process in which graduating medical students are paired with residency programs nationwide. The data gathered includes details on the location, specialty, and residency program (GME) each graduate enters after medical school.
Developed in collaboration with the Georgia Data Analytics Center (GDAC), this new dashboard enables users to explore historical Match data by medical school, specialty, year, and Georgia-based GME program. It serves as a valuable resource for stakeholders looking to track workforce trends and assess Georgia’s efforts in retaining medical talent.
